Several months ago I sent out just one email asking for support with a Habitat project in Nicaragua. I was completely taken aback by the generosity of so many friends. All told, we contributed over $7000... almost enough to fully fund two houses!
In March I visited the project, and tried helping out with the construction. It was back-breaking work (literally), and I came away feeling very lucky that I sit behind a computer and talk for a living! - With ten other volunteers, we took almost a week just to build half a house and lay a floor! - When I left, the project was still only half finished with a lot of work ahead.
Recently I got news that the 25 house project has now been completed and the keys handed over to the new homeowners. This is really exciting, and I am overdue to share my experience with you. So, if you'll forgive my amateur video editing skills, here's a short 6 minute video of my experience along with pictures of the end result. :

I was very humbled by these donations, and it's good to know that tonight, in a small village in Nicaragua, there is a family with a solid roof over their head, and a safe home because of them.
