We had two incredible days when we saw the house taking shape and looking like a "real house" with all the walls and the tiled roof on top. An incredible team work. My highlight of the two days was putting the stucco on the exterior walls together with Ionut, one of the homeowners. Today was our first day on the built site. Out team and the student team from Neuchatel Junior College worked together with the homeowner families and local volunteers. It was humbling to meet two of the future homeowners of the Easter House. Catinca is a 70-years old woman who lost her house because she gave it as guarantee for a stranger's mortgage, who left without paying the installments. What better way to shake off jet lag than with a walking tour of Budapest? The 11 members of the Global Village Easter Build team spent our first full day together touring this classic Eastern European city, taking in such sights as Buda Castle, the Chain Bridge and Fisherman's Rampart.
